Somebody died today...9:26pm, central standard time
somebody died today
one child boy, two adults
three adults, two kids, one dog, one adult man
Somebody died today
three critically injured, You stood there
surprised
that somebody
Died
Today...by your hand
your failure to plan
your failure to think about life
Your Bad!
Two ambulance, a quarter mile scattered chaos,
legs on 24th
head going up 22nd...
you're second guessing your decision
maybe you shouldn't have ran that light
taken that line of blow
that fifth shot
that risk your first mind told you nor too!
Maybe it was you they warned me
about during drivers education
"you don't drive for yourself
you drive for the other person"
the person that doesn't know
how many drinks is "too much"
I'm supposed to drive for the woman
who's husband smacked her around
making her late for work
She bobbing and weaving through
traffic going nowhere and
I'm hoping this neighbor in the
lane to my right knows
he should have had a cup of coffee
instead if the vodka tunic ritual
he practices daily
I'm suppose to drive for you
the you that hasn't thought about
me in NEVER,
the She that took her time, prepared
for the day, with an allotment of time
taking in the moment
but I can't stop thinking that
Somebody died today
with your hand behind the wheel
